Sailor Moon soundtrack reminds me a lot of City Pop
Main Post:
In summer of 2000, my sister bought the VHS tapes of the series with the Cloverway dub. The thing that stuck with me from that series was the soundtrack to them. It had many of the traits I hear from City Pop. The horns, strings, and harmonizing just hits right between the two and for partly that reason the genre got me hooked. Some of the music on the show reminds me of some of Mami Ayukawa's work. Has it been the same for anyone here too?
Top Comment: I’m currently listening to Momoko Kikuchi Adventure album and it has really strong Sailor Moon vibes to me.
New York City Is a Lot Safer Than Small-Town America

The fact is that in NYC, violent crimes, hate crimes, car related deaths are all going to happen relatively near you quite often, but the chance of any of these happening specifically is relatively average or low in some comparisons.
This is what makes the perception vs the reality quite different.
I've seen a lot of people confused about the mechanics of Fatal Fury City of the Wolves here. Luckily rooflemonger just released a video with a brief but thorough explanation of the game's more unique mechanics

Top Comment: I hope this game blows up. Anyone who hasn't been happy with the "dumbing down" of modern fighters or who doesn't necessarily like the current games where defense (and defensive mechanics) are weak compared to the ultra focus on offense...play the beta on February 20th.
I think a lot of folks miss the entire point of City Primeval
Main Post:
A lot of the acrimony I've seen towards CityP is that "it isn't the same as Justified" more or less.
I don't think that was ever the intention.
Raylan is a legacy character with an entire life of stories to tell. In some events in the characters life, they are central and others they would be a side character, more of an observer, or just simply positioned slightly different than the biggest story in their life (the original series in this case).
How often have you watched a show or movie and enjoyed the world created and simply wondered what it would be like elsewhere or how that character might navigate some different circumstances in different places?
That is what City Primeval is. It's a broader view into the world Raylan exists in. If you first saw this series, you might enjoy Raylan a lot and be blown away at the original series as the best prequel series ever.
Top Comment: I think still OTHERS are "missing the point". Forget Justified for a minute. It's supposed to be like Elmore Leonard - and it's not. Although Elmore Leonard had his serious novelizations, City Primeval is not one of them. It's not dark and dreary and distant. It is snappy and funny, like Justified was. This show is not.
Guardiola on injury crisis at Manchester City: "We are not the only club in the world that has injuries. We have a lot in certain departments and certain positions, but it is what it is. I said many times to the team, ‘Guys, try not to feel sorry for ourselves."

I love this mentality from coaches and players, injuries are part of every sport, stop crying about it and get on with the job at hand.
is anyone else seeing a lot of dead guards in Akila City without bein the one to kill them?

I've been running around doing False Positives and every time I run across this city, i find three new dead guards, haven't heard any gunfire, anyone else experiencing this?

Yes- I noticed an ashta in the city limits and I put it down. Afterward I saw 3-4 dead security detail. I did get their sweet uniform from one of the bodies.
I adore this game but Act 3 needs A LOT of work
Main Post:
I want to preface that I really love this game but Act 3 is really holding it back from being my GOTY. I've been a Larian fan since Divine Divinity and I've been a Forgotten Realms fan for longer. Act 1 had the polish of 2.5 million testers and Act 2 was really solid.
I've encountered quests where I literally can't progress because I made a decision that should have been anticipated (leaving and coming back to the Iron Throne), Unstoppable is bugged basically making these characters immortal and every Bhaal fight a massive slog, the journal has become awful with tracking quests and the quest markers stacking for the sewers isn't helpful, the level cap doesn't account for people actually doing a lot of content, companion reactions to Mizora are at odds with their normal attitudes.
I could go listing more things, but they really do add up. Look, the writing. the VA, and the scenario writing are all fantastic, but they're being held back by this stuff. The game has a 10/10 start but anyone claiming this is one of the best games ever made can't have made it to Act 3 yet. Games of that caliber don't need this much work. It absolutely could be but there's a lot that needs to be fixed first.
Has anyone else encountered the same stuff?
Edit: I am not saying Act 3 is BAD, I am saying it's a step down from the rest of the game because of IMO a lot of things not working.
Top Comment: Weird, Act 3 has been my favourite so far. It’s definitely a bit buggier but haven’t run into anything game-breaking I’m really digging the sprawling mess of it all though it’s exactly what I wanted from a city
